The splashed canvases mark a period in Katherine Roumanoff's creative life, when the need to splash her textile portrait canvases became irrepressible.
The large figures
Made from plastic textile, the large figures are elongated figures, ready to live out in nature (a technical plastic fabric, recovered and processed at an industrial site).

Dim Dam Doum
Katherine Roumanoff presents the puppets from the Dim Dam Doum series. "At some point, I wanted my characters to come to life, like Geppetto wanting his wooden puppet, his little Pinocchio, to become a real boy." So I created the world of Dim Dam Doum, three little caterpillars living with their butterfly parents in a field of sharply coloured flowers. Gentle adventures, with a magical character, the Little King, who arrives on his shooting star whenever things go wrong. This whole world is made of fabric! The adventures of Dim Dam Doum (39 five-minute episodes) aired on French television in 2004.
I wrote the stories and the dialogue, and became the director of puppets moving through rounded, plump-shaped sets. Dim Dam Doum also exists as a stage play, performed for several years on Sunday mornings for young children at the Théâtre Fontaine in Paris and on tour. I designed the merchandise — baby bottles, comfort toys, tableware…
